L.A.M.B SS2011 Rocking to African Beats

Just when most Africans particularly Nigerian fashionistas are starting to complain about the Ankara overload, rocker chic Gwen Stefani serves up a full load in the spring summer 2011 collection for her fun and glam label L.A.M.B. She showed the versatility of the fabric by using it for lingerie, bags and clothing. This further portrays what I’ve been advocating all along that the African print fabric is as versatile as denim and has probably come to stay for much longer than most of us expect. No clear idea as to whether she thought about the African woman when she was designing this collection but there’s no doubt the African woman played a major role in influencing this trend. Keep buying African print people.
